We are now accepting applications for the 2008 Amp Fest Battle of the Bands. Participating in the Amp Fest Battle of the Bands is great way build your fan base in the area. The battle is designed to give local bands the opportunity to play on a big stage in front of thousands. Battles shows are scheduled May 10th, May17th, June 14th & July 18th/or/19th (Final Battle). Two bands are taken from each qualifying show to play in the final battle. The top 3 bands from the final battle play at Amp Fest! Note: Dates are subject to change based on scheduling availability.

Application (micrsoft word – for e-mail) – If submitting by e-mail, payment of $40 application fee may be made through Pay Pal. (Note $1.25 Additional Fee For Online Payments) Also, if sending by e-mail, please edit the application in Word and send it as an attachment, unless you do not have the ability to do so.

History: This is the 3 consecutive year for the Amp Fest Battle of the Bands. The battle originated as a way to allow unsigned bands to participate in the festival. It allows these bands to be able to build their fan base before they play the festival….which in turn also makes them more valuable to Amp Fest.

Qualifications: All bands must complete the application form and include their $40 application fee. All bands are required to provide music in some form whether by myspace, cd, tape, or video. No band will be allowed to play the battle without providing music. In some cases, we may request lyrics as well. This battle is designed for unsigned bands, but bands signed to smaller and indie labels are welcome to participate pending approval. Voting: At each qualifying show, and at the final battle, all who have paid for admission receive ballots with all participating bands listed. Fans can vote for 2 bands, but no band twice. The two bands with the most votes move on to the final battle, or to Amp Fest. Winners are announced the day following the battle via myspace & e-mail for the bands.

Rules: All bands must attend the show that they are scheduled to play by the time that they are scheduled to arrive. All bands get equal amounts of time at each individual battle. Guest listed attendees cannot vote.
